Connect with Christ
Prayer and worship are crucial in growing closer to God. We all are created to worship God. It is in our worship to Him that we can find our fulfillment and source of joy. Worship and prayer, both as acts and as lifestyles, are fundamental parts of who we are as a church family.
Care for Others
Evangelism is essential in a church community. We want to have a mindset that making Jesus known is vital for individual growth and the growth of the Church. Whether it is supporting missionaries, serving in our community, going on mission trips, or making Jesus known to our circles of influence, evangelism is key for becoming who God wants us to be.
We strive to always have an environment where people feel accepted and welcome, a place where they will want to bring new friends and develop lasting relationships. Without developing a healthy community, we will not have healthy growth. We will have intentional awareness and welcoming attitudes to new faces. In Life Groups, ministry opportunities, and Sunday services, we will create a community of love and support.
Discipleship is fundamental in the Church. We will strive to teach the Word of God and utilize every opportunity for those attending to have a deeper understanding of God and what we believe as an Assembly of God fellowship. We want to see people know what they believe and why they believe it, so they will always have a firm place to stand in the storms of life, as well as the words to say when making Jesus known. Through the Word of God and leading of the Holy Spirit, are able to understand and develop our purpose and calling in following Jesus.
Just a glimpse into who we were, who we are, and who we want to become!
Virginia Beach is full of history, and Christian Chapel is no different. The church originated within a home in 1986. By 1989, the church rented space in an elementary school. Through miraculous events, the church purchased a modular building in 1991; and after two years of hard work, the church began having services at the current address of Christian Chapel in 1993. The church continued to grow, and in 2002 the vision for a new building began being put to action. The Lord's hand stayed on Christian Chapel through the eight years it took to create and launch the currently Worship Center in 2010.
Christian Chapel continues to renew itself to be unified with God. Growth and vision in Christian Chapel have been in motion throughout its history, and it certainly will not stop there. Christian Chapel is currently undergoing various interior remodeling so that it continues to fulfill the God-given vision to Make Jesus Known. The current focus is on the children's ministry area. Soon, the younger generation will have an environment where they can safely learn the word of God and grow in their walk with Christ.
Our goal is to have the community of Virginia Beach on fire for the Lord!
